		<description>I use Mail 3.5 and my 3 IMAP accounts suffer from a huge delay (more than 1 hour is many cases).

I guess they force us to not use it and go for thunderbird for example.</description>

		<description>not sure if the problem is still present, as I stopped using IMAP and moved to pop. but I&#039;m planning on giving it another try when I upgrade to leopord maybe that version has a rewritten imap code</description>

		<description>Mail.app&#039;s IMAP handling leaves a lot to be desired. Apple&#039;s people seem to always say &#039;wait for the next version&#039;. It&#039;s been broken for ages. It&#039;s getting better, but it&#039;s taking too long.

One can only hope that Apple keeps its promises in fixing the problem.
